The secret of these smoked spices began about 20 years ago in Cleburne, Texas. Charlie Perkins had a barbecue restaurant there, and people came from miles around because, “ There’s barbecue and there’s BARBECUE” and then there’s Charlie Perkins BBQ! Charlie’s recipe for smoked spices was a best kept secret. A young man name Alex befriended Charlie and tried to extract the know how to no avail. After at least 50 attempts he finally figured it out and thus began a smoked spice sensation. Now Dairyland has extracted the spices from Alex for you to experiment with.
